Driving privileges in North Carolina regarding DWI are very complicated and nuanced in many ways. As you probably understand most people have their license taken from them while their arrested for driving while impaired. That's not true in every case and there are exceptions to the rule. A garden variety DWI where you blow a .08 or higher or they have proof that you willfully refused to blow into the machine, they suspend your license immediately for a minimum period of 30 days.

You may be eligible for what's called a pre-trial limited driving privilege. It’s important to understand that a pre-trial limited driving privilege is different than a post-conviction limited driving privilege. I'll go into the facts and the specifics of each individual one as we go along.
